» Hardstyle Opera

Ok, in terms of things you would never think could go together, Hardstyle and Opera music would be two of them, not far off Chalk and Cheese. But this hits the spot surprisingly well. The fact that it’s not the hardest or darkest Hardstyle track probably helps too!

The Opera comes from some beautiful wailing from an unidentified singer, but it certainly fits in well over the Germanic marching beat and off beat bass. There’s a wicked Key change just before the breakdown, and the breakdown itself it excellent. It lacks the euphoric pads that I was expecting, instead keeping true to the roots of Hardstyle and keeping with just the riff and a bass drone. Essentially 2 riffs interchange during the breakdown which is a nice touch, but they fit superbly over each other, with one being more of a bleeper and the other being your more typical Hardstyle synth. Indeed, it’s not quite as good as D4rks 4th Element, but there is more use of the Opera parts at least!
