Label: Alter Ego Records
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance

I feel I should explain my retrospective reviews before I start. While new releases are important, its also important to look back on how labels have evolved. How their styles have adapted over the years. With labels like Lost Language and Alter Ego, who have lots of releases, its nice to sometimes look back into the archives.

With that in mind, here is Static by Andy Tau on Alter Ego. Released in 2010, Static featured remixes from Sasha Virus, Sequentia and Sonic Element. Sonic Element would later go on to remix tracks on Perfecto Fluoro and have newer releases on Alter Ego Pure.

Sequentia's remix is anthemic; mirroring their remix of Merge by Jan Johnson on Enhanced. Sasha Virus offers a more progressive slant. Sonic Element holds the real gem though. Trance vibes all the way. Static would eventually resurface in Trilucid and Allen Watts forms. But the original package is still the best.
